Non-Conductive VS Conductive Matting


NON-CONDUCTIVE:
Commonly called Switchboard matting, our non-conductive mats insulate workers and protect them from deadly shocks generated by high voltage equipment.

These mats are tested and proven to have a high dielectric strength. This is important since the switchboard mats are true safety mats, designed to save employees lives.

CONDUCTIVE:
Conductive mats are designed to protect sensitive equipment by quickly drawing the static off workers before they touch susceptible chemicals or apparatus. Humans quickly generate static electricity by walking or using chairs with casters. Then, with a simple touch, the electricity is passed to sensitive equipment such as computers. One shock can destroy internal micro-chips or cause a fire if in contact with flammable chemicals.

To eliminate these hazards, we offer both Electricity Conductive and Static Dissipative mats. Conductive mats disperse the static electricity quicker than static dissipative mats. Therefore, the most basic rule of thumb is that Conductive mats should be used around very sensitive components. All conductive and dissipative matting must be grounded to be effective.

• Durable electrically conductive PVC surface NGB bonded to a resilient anti-fatigue closed-cell PVC foam base.

• Provides comfort for workers while protecting equipment from static electricity.

• Conductive diamond surface removes static electricity from workers preventing damage to sensitive electronic equipment and systems as well as providing a non slip surface.
